<What adults can learn from children>
I am sure that everybody reading my post knows what 'TED' is. As you know, a lot of famous people such as Steve Jobs and Bill Gates made a speech here. But to my surprise, a twelve-year-old girl named 'Adora' had made a speech about 'What adults can learn from children' at TED. I got more interested in this speech each time I listened to it, I'm in agreement with her speech. Most of all, I am impressed with the examples that he showed to prove children are as capable as adults, as I remembered some examples from my own life.
These days, children are called 'societal weak people'. People who are called as 'societal weak people seem to be powerless and useless. But they, or we, are not. Children are not weak.'Children are weak' is in a stereotype. When I wad young, I saw a poster advertising an invention contest. On the poster, it said that the child who gets the first prize will win cash and his or her invention will be made in a factory and be sold. I think this shows that children could teach, and help adults, with their imagination and extraordinary thinking, which sometime seems to be strange.
Have you ever learned about the reasons of World War 2, and how many people died during the war? The WW2 started as Hitler, an adult, broke the Versailles Treaty. Because of that, thousands and thousands of adults and innocent children died. Isn't that unfair? Innocent children being killed with no reason because of adults. If you open a history book somewhere in your house, you could see plenty of examples about children being killed because of adults. But, could you find an example for adults being killed because of children? I'm quite sure you couldn't.
Last year, my mom was very sick because she worked too much everyday. While my mom was sick, I tried to do everything I could to help her, and everything that could make her better-I tried to understand her. Really, children can understand adults. Even children could understand others more than adults because they accept small things to adults much bigger. But adults think they couldn't. So when they are sad or angry, they look for some nasty experts. Of course you need experts and professionals sometimes. But, children can, I can understand them, too. We can advice adults something. We can teach adults something. Even though every single child is not very smart or very strong, we can teach you something.
You might have felt that children are weak, but children could help adults with their imagination. They can understand adults and teach adults something. The lesson the video gives you is that children are much capable than adult think. I hope your stereotype about children have changed. Thank you for reading my post.
