Close to the Ending.....

I was learning how to be a good blogger the whole camp,
and now I think I'm quite close to a good blogger.
I feel very practiced to post things on my own blog.
But, there are some bad news.
The camp is only 2 days left!
It was quite harsh and hard camp, but I really
enjoyed posting things on my blog.
I have only one writing assignment left..
And then the camp will be finished.
I will keep posting things on my blog, but still...its a sad news.

Ode!

<Ode to My New Desk!>

Dear my new desk

  I guess you don't know who I am. Well, I am your new owner! You probably think I am joking because you are in a dark, uncomfortable ware house,  somewhere near Pusan. How do I know it? As I told you, it's because I am going to buy you soon. I always wanted a new desk because my current is too small and inconvenient. But, I'm pretty sure that you are a fine new desk for me. You might become quite tired and toilsome because I keep a lot of things on my desk. However, you will be washed and cleaned up everyday. You will see me as soon as my parents buy you and bring you to my own room. I am really excited to see you! You are a loyal neat desk, aren't you? Well, after you come to my house, you should be ready to be a fine desk so that I could be satisfied with you. But, I think I don't have to tell these to you because I'm sure you are just perfect right now.

I can't wait to see you after this camp! See you later, and be readied to meet the new owner. You will be a perfect one to brag to others. Others will envy me because of you! I hope you to like me as I like you. I promise I will be a good friend. Good bye, and see you soon!

From your new owner or a friend,
Sharon

PS. Please understand if I fall a sleep on you. I love sleeping so I think I will sleep on you pretty often.

Reflective Essay : What Adults Can Learn from Children

<What adults can learn from children>

  I am sure that everybody reading my post knows what 'TED' is. As you know, a lot of famous people such as Steve Jobs and Bill Gates made a speech here. But to my surprise, a twelve-year-old girl named 'Adora' had made a speech about 'What adults can learn from children' at TED. I got more interested in this speech each time I listened to it, I'm in agreement with her speech. Most of all, I am impressed with the examples that he showed to prove children are as capable as adults, as I remembered some examples from my own life.

  These days, children are called 'societal weak people'. People who are called as 'societal weak people seem to be powerless and useless. But they, or we, are not. Children are not weak.'Children are weak' is in a stereotype. When I wad young, I saw a poster advertising an invention contest. On the poster, it said that the child who gets the first prize will win cash and his or her invention will be made in a factory and be sold. I think this shows that children could teach, and help adults, with their imagination and extraordinary thinking, which sometime seems to be strange.

  Have you ever learned about the reasons of World War 2, and how many people died during the war? The WW2 started as Hitler, an adult, broke the Versailles Treaty. Because of that, thousands and thousands of adults and innocent children died. Isn't that unfair? Innocent children being killed with no reason because of adults. If you open a history book somewhere in your house, you could see plenty of examples about children being killed because of adults. But, could you find an example for adults being killed because of children? I'm quite sure you couldn't.

  Last year, my mom was very sick because she worked too much everyday. While my mom was sick, I tried to do everything I could to help her, and everything that could make her better-I tried to understand her. Really, children can understand adults. Even children could understand others more than adults because they accept small things to adults much bigger. But adults think they couldn't. So when they are sad or angry, they look for some nasty experts. Of course you need experts and professionals sometimes. But, children can, I can understand them, too. We can advice adults something. We can teach adults something. Even though every single child is not very smart or very strong, we can teach you something.

  You might have felt that children are weak, but children could help adults with their imagination. They can understand adults and teach adults something. The lesson the video gives you is that children are much capable than adult think. I hope your stereotype about children have changed. Thank you for reading my post.

Kony:2012 Must be Famous

                                    <Kony:2012 Must be Famous>

  To start with, I will ask you a simple question:What would you do if your child disappears suddenly, or in other words was kidnapped? If you don't have a child, imagine that you lost something very important. What will you do? You might ask others if they had seen the child or the thing you are looking for, or even ask the police. But how would you feel if you suddenly realized that you can't get the thing or a person who was take away, back? You would be heartbroken or even go crazy. Well, you probably think that I am asking you a unnecessary question because this kind of situation is very rare. But, surprisingly, children in Uganda, Africa are being kidnapped every night, by a cruel organization named 'Lord Reserve Army', also known as 'LRA'. The kidnapped children become soldiers or a slave. Mournfully, even some of the children die a horrible death. The headmaster of LRA, 'Joseph Kony', continues to do such ruthless and awful things to the innocent children, even though he had promised the others that he would stop being a cruel criminal in 2008. A lot of children have suffered already, but we should try to save the children from the evil,or the insane man, Joseph Kony.

  A man named Jason Russell of USA was one of the people who made the organization 'Invisible Children' to stop Kony. He made a video about Kony's massacre of children, and this video was those videos you call as 'viral video'-the number of people who saw it went over 1 million. This video was called as 'Kony 2012', and this video explains us about Kony's crimes and how to solve it. Some people says we should not spread this video, but my opinion is different. We should pass this video onand on until everyone knows it. Moreover, children are our future. They are the ones who are going to lead the future world. Joseph Kony is forcing those hopeful children to be cruel and awful. He is making them to obey him like a god. He is not a dictator. He was not to be a ruler since he was born. This, is, wrong. Kony should be captured. His crimes shouldn't be forgived. We should make him famous and let the presidents and prime ministers of the world know how serious the situation is.

-She had her lips, nose, and ears cut off

  How would your parents feel if you disappear one day? So sad and heartbreaking that you can't even describe it. And multiply that into billion times. Can you imagine that? Kony has kidnapped billion of children for his own wealth and power. The sorrow of the kidnapped children's parents would be amazingly big. Adding a bit more strength to capture Kony is our errand, at least to soothe the parents sorrow.

  People will say that making a criminal famous is wrong. "Barrak Obama could be famous because he is the president of the United States, But Kony, a criminal, being famous? That is not the correct thing to do", they will say. But people who said that, you better find the definition of 'famous' again. 'Famous' has the meaning for 'very well known', but also has the meaning for 'notorious', 'notorious' means infamous. Then, I guess word 'famous' suits Kony very well!

  The video Kony 2012 might have false things in it because Jason Russell made it to persuade others. Yes, that's right. But in all respects, they were trying to persuade us. We can't deny that. Some of the video could be exaggerated, but still, the exaggerated things are based on a fact.

  I strongly believe that the Kony 2012 video should be passed on and on so that Joseph Kony could be captured as soon as possible. Thank you for reading my argumentive essay. I hope you to add a bit more strength right now to capyure Kony! (If you want to see Kony 2012 video, click the link under this-the last one.)

Three Things I Know to be True

<Three Things I Know to be True>

  Today, I want to share three things I know to be true with you. There are so man;y things I want to tell you, some of them funny and some of them strange. But here, I will tell you about three things that are quite unique and interesting about myself. I hope you enjoy my post.

  Traveling makes me have odd experiences. When I was 9 years old, I was traveling in China with my family. After a long day of touring, I went into the bathroom in our hotel room, which was clean and neat, and turned the knob to wash my hands which was dirty with dust. When the water poured down from the tap, I saw something strange in it. The water's color should be transparent but it was brown with dirt. I was astonished but later on I knew that there was a problem with the water system, and it was a common thing in China.

  Drawing gives me inspiration. I once wrote a short novel about a princess, who was the heir of the country. But since another country invaded, she lost everything. She was even called a traitor. My friends said that it was sad and miserable, but a interesting story. I got the inspiration of this story when I was drawing a picture. At first, I was trying to draw a girl wearing a fancy dress, and while drawing I got the idea of a girl who lost everything, and once was a daughter of a king or a billionaire. I've got plenty of other examples where drawing picture gives me inspiration.

  Any kinds of book, even comic books make me think about myself. If I read a comic book, even if it is made only for comedy, I think about myself, comparing myself and the character in the book, and thinking about what would I do when I got in a situation like that. Most of all, if I read a story about someone famous, or some miracle, I assure to myself that one day, I will become a famous person just like the person in the story or someone even better.
